Major League Baseball Players Trust All-Star Week (Denver, CO)

During the Home Run Derby, ESPN aired a 60-second segment recognizing the work of Players Trust over the years and will highlight a local beneficiary of the “REEQUIP” campaign, Athletics & Beyond. The segment will relive a recent moment when student-athletes from the Montebello neighborhood in northeast Denver were surprised by a visit and donation from Colorado Rockies reliever Mychal Givens and former Rockies outfielder Jeffrey Hammonds.

Major League Baseball Players Media All-Star Week 2021

Head coach: JC Martinez has been coaching baseball for 17 years. Currently, in his seventh year of coaching at Manual High School, he also coached for eight years at Montbello High School and two years at Denver South High School. His commitment to youth goes beyond baseball, as he also volunteers his time with Bello Valley Young Life. John prides himself on helping youth and every student-athlete achieve a high level of competence and self-reliance so they can successfully steer their way through life. Assistant coach: Bryan Sanders a native of Riverside, CA, Bryan Grew up in Denver, CO, and graduated from Montbello High School. Upon graduating from Montbello in 2000, Bryan attended Texas Southern University on a baseball scholarship where he played catcher and outfield for two years. During the 2007-2008 year, Bryan was selected as the DPL Baseball Coach of the Year.
